Examination of the Field of Beauty and Hair Care Services within the Scope of the Quality of Vocational Education in Our Country

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the field of beauty and hair care services within the scope of the quality of vocational education in our country. Today, with the impact of technological developments, the need for skilled manpower in a professional sense is increasing. The training of qualified manpower to ensure economic development is the responsibility of vocational and technical education. The qualified manpower required by enterprises cannot be provided only with the education provided at school. For this reason, there should be a cooperation between business and educational institutions. Dec. Especially in vocational-technical education, a close cooperation between the school and the environment (business world) is considered mandatory.Dec. Because vocational education is an educational process based on different levels, providing lifelong education to people, which has a continuity. Theory-practice, business education integrity is essential in vocational-technical education. Success in vocational-technical education is measured by the compliance of the competencies acquired by graduates with the methods and requirements of the employment sector. Vocational-technical education must be kept open to planned and continuous development with this feature. Another thing that should not be forgotten is that vocational-technical education programs are based on the basic principles that apply in all countries of the world. These principles are issues such as cooperation based on the responsibility of interested parties, continuous adaptation to developments, responding to the world of professions, compliance with the real business environment in education. Undoubtedly, Beauty and Hair Care Services are one of the most prominent areas in vocational-technical education. Nowadays, the importance that people attach to their appearance has increased greatly. The main elements of the appearance are clothing and body care. Technological developments and the diversity in cosmetic products have contributed to the development of the sector. For this reason, the Field of Beauty and Hair Care Services is in a rapidly changing dynamism. This rapid change in the field requires that the competencies of working people also increase. This qualification will bring with it the qualification of the workforce needed by the field. The Field of Beauty and Hair Care Services is an area where education and training are provided for procedures such as skin care, body care, makeup, haircut and styling. Beauty and Hair Care Services Area program; there are branches of barbering, hairdressing and beauty services. In this study, the Field of Beauty and Hair Care Services will be considered within the scope of the quality of vocational education.
