Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to launch a discussion on how the education of patients and healthcare professionals can help prevent abuse and malpractice. This text emphasizes the importance of medical education as an essential tool for preventing abuse and ensuring respect for patients' rights. Ongoing education of healthcare staff and patient information are crucial to creating a safe and ethical care environment. Patients' rights, such as the right to information and informed consent, must be well known to enable patients to become active partners in the care process. Medical abuse, which can include improper administration of treatments or lack of informed consent, underscores the need for strict regulation and proper education. Also, the legal responsibilities of healthcare professionals are essential to ensure a medical practice based on ethics and respect. In the recent context of pharmaceutical companies' decisions to reduce sponsorships, it is vital to find alternative solutions to support medical education, such as the creation of scholarship funds. Thus, a solid and continuous education can contribute to improving the quality of healthcare and protecting patients' rights.
