Summary/Abstract: Gevaş Seljuk Cemetery restoration works were carried out for the first time in 1988-89 under the chairmanship of the Van Museum Directorate and under the scientific consultancy of Professor Doctor Taner Tarhan and Professor Doctor Veli Sevin. The excavations and restoration studies carried out by the mentioned scientists have been an important source and guide for the studies carried out today in the relevant field. After a long period of time, restoration, cleaning and documentation works were restarted in Gevaş Seljuk Cemetery in 2022. The restoration works planned under several headings mainly consist of weed cleaning, ground blocking operations, lichen cleaning and completion works. The cemetery is located on 50 acres of land. Gevaş Seljuk Cemetery, which contains more than 700 tombstones, is one of the largest Turkish-Islamic cemeteries in Anatolia. Halime Hatun Tomb, built in accordance with the Anatolian Seljuk monumental tomb tradition, is also located in this cemetery. The restoration of the stones in the cemetery is carried out by restorers and experts using natural methods and mechanical tools. Restoring and restoring the stones in this cemetery, built in the Anatolian Turkish burial tradition, will be very beneficial for the Anatolian Turkish cultural heritage. Preserving this historical cultural heritage, which reflects the Anatolian Turkish burial tradition, and transferring it to the next generations is important for Turkish history, culture and art.
