Sustainable Land Use Development Regularities in Terms of Its Categories and Criteria

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the nature of dialectical and economic categories, as well as the patterns of sustainable land use development, which allow for a deeper understanding of the natural and social laws interaction and their consideration in organizing rational and sustainably efficient use of land resources in society. The interdependence between such categories as development, stability, system sustainability, modernization, investment and innovation is established, and the definition and content of each of them in the context of land use is provided. It is proved that the categories of “modernization”, “investment” and “innovation” are autonomous and independent, each of which is a complex system of the appropriate level in the economy, including the land use system. It іs determined that these categories are interconnected and, in their organic unity, contribute to the modernization of the system and, combined with the dialectical category of “development” ensure the sustainable development of the land use system. The criteria of the categories are defined and the criteria for assessing the system of sustainable land use are formulated accordingly. It is determined that the development of the land use system is characterized by cyclicality, which occurs in an upward spiral. It is proven that the efficiency of land use does not correspond to the requirements of the innovative economy, and it is necessary to modernize the land use system on the basis of high soil cultivation technologies, modern technical support for land use, and modern forms of organization and use of land resources. Modernization of the land use system should be carried out in terms of its structural organization and land use management aspects, which will allow to identify priority areas of innovation, optimally allocate other necessary resources and, above all, investments, justify their effectiveness, and obtain a synergistic effect from the system modernization.
