Summary/Abstract: The reconfiguration of global power zones implies rethinking the way international cooperation is carried out, the main trend being the geostrategic competition between Western states with democratic regimes under US coordination and those with autocratic political regimes that will be led by China. This geopolitical realignment of the poles of power will be difficult to achieve, given the geostrategic competition between the two major world powers (the USA and China), against a backdrop of increasing frustration in states that have lost or are about to lose certain privileged positions (e.g. the Russian Federation). The next period will be characterised by a series of political, social, economic and military crises, which will require a willingness on the part of states to increase their capacity and willingness to negotiate in order to achieve a stable geostrategic balance that will ultimately lead to overcoming these crises.
