The desacralization of family life – crises and challenges. A canonical-pastoral perspective

Summary/Abstract: In this article we will present some of the challenges of the contemporary world regarding the Christian family, from the perspective of the Orthodox Canon Law. In the three parts of the paper we will also approach the crises to which yhe family is subjected. It is well known that all kinds of practices have developed lately and many behavioural mutations have occured, which have led to new values, vectors or factors that introduce new dynamics into family life. That is why this article proposes for examination the most important directions and tries to offer a canonical and pastoral framing that provides regulations regarding family life as well as a variety of approaches to apply the canonical perspectivs to the concrete problems.
