The Scientific Growth and Sports Achievements of the Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports Department for the Period 2010-2024

Summary/Abstract: The Department of Physical Education and Sport was opened in 1964, when a branch faculty of Sofia University was created, and in 1971 the same branch was separated as an independent Higher Pedagogical Institute (VPI) with the departments assigned to it, ensuring the education of students. Over the years, the tasks and activities of the department, dictated by the specifics of the educational process in the PF and in the SHU, have grown. The purpose of the present study is to track the scientific development and sports achievements of teachers and students from the Department of Physical Education and Sport over the past 15 years.
