Summary/Abstract: In a 2025 marked by multiple wars and the reconfiguration of the world order through the USA's new foreign policy, revisiting the Treaty on Franco-German Cooperation, sealing the final reconciliation of two former enemies of the Second World War could provide interesting insights into the importance of the `Franco German engine` in the current transformative European Union and the stakes of European post-war approaches. From a legislative technique standpoint, the 62-year-old Élysée Treaty — with a preamble inserted in its German ratification law, supporting the partnership between Europe and the USA — codifies a unique conventional oxymoron, worthy of further analysis in its intricate political background.
