Summary/Abstract: In the year that marks the 100th anniversary of composer André Boucourechliev’s birth, this text draws attention to his early electroacoustic composition Textе II (1959). The work is distinguished by an original and innovative approach to achieving mobility within the electroacoustic medium – nearly a decade before the appearance of his renowned “Archipels”, which explore open form. Although the sound material of the composition is fixed on two tapes, its performance is distinguished by a variability, made possible by what Boucourechliev described as “asynchronous unfolding – with multiple starting points” of the two recordings. The proposed analysis situates the composition within supra-, macro-, mezzo- and micro-time frameworks, encompassing cultural context, structurе and material. At the same time, the article draws attention to the means by which the author achieves mobility in the context of the fixed medium. For the purposes of the analysis, I have used two released recordings, in which three distinct versions of the piece underline its indeterminacy. Furthermore, the text proposes a hypothesis of a possible “granular intention” on the part of Boucourechliev in composing Texte II, which requires further research.
