Structure and dynamics of patent activity in the EU for the period 2014-2023

Summary/Abstract: The focus of this study is on the development of inventive activity in the European Union (EU-27). For this purpose, we analyze patent activity through the patents filed and granted by the EU-27 Member States. During the study, using empirical methods, we establish the structure and dynamics of patent activity, and we group the EU-27 countries according to the concentration of patent rights in each of them. In conclusion, we outline the existing differences in the innovative development of EU countries and the guidelines for limiting them
