Summary/Abstract: Working with children with behavioral problems requires a careful approach, and an important part of the process is communication - the way in which you communicate with them. Well-structured language appropriate to the child's age and needs can help deal with behavioral difficulties. In the process of effective communication, the educator or therapist can apply a special approach to stimulate positive changes in the emotional state, which also reflect in the child's behavior. Basic rhetorical techniques include active listening, using clear and simple directions, positive verbal support, reframing, and constructive corrections. It is important to emphasize emotional intelligence in order to create trust and security, a safe environment for the child. Rhetoric based on sympathy and understanding can be a reliable tool for solving behavioral problems and promoting social adjustment.
