Between the repression of history and the justice of transition. The Montenegrin drama.

Summary/Abstract: The col-lapse of socialism and the disintegration of Yugoslavia provided an exciting context for the theatreand its repertoire strategies. The paper outlines, recognizes and defines the key aspects of changesin theatre. From the initial closure within the new-old national systems, emerged the logic of inter-cultural dialogue that promoted dramatic and theatrical pluralism. The key focus of this analysis ismapping of contemporary performing practices that redefined the understanding of theatre policywithin traditional framework, where policy became defined and emerged as a new programmingvalue; value that is of importance to the whole community.
