Poland’s perspective on active participation in the European strategy for gender equality

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the most important areas in which, over the last 20 years, efforts have been made in Poland to raise awareness of the need for equal treatment in response to standards introduced in this area by the European Union. It analyzes the most important activities in this area resulting from Poland’s 20-year membership in the European Union, which were undertaken to combat gender inequality in various areas of social life such as the labor market, political decision-making and education. The article presents the main areas of European gender equality policy with a clear emphasis on the level of their implementation at the national level.
