Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the populist criticism of the European Union by the Spanish party VOX and the Polish Law and Justice party (PiS). The study is grounded in a theoretical framework of populism as a critique of democratic-liberal political representation, highlighting shared characteristics of right-wing populism in this context concerning European integration. The findings indicate that VOX and PiS exhibit skepticism toward European integration, arguing that the EU undermines national sovereignty and threatens traditional values. Both parties criticize EU elites as being detached from the needs of “ordinary people” and promoting globalist agendas. Historical and social differences between Spain and Poland do not significantly affect the shared right-wing populist narrative of these parties regarding the EU.In conclusion, the study emphasizes that criticism of the EU is a central element of contemporary right-wing populism, reflecting opposition to the erosion of national sovereignty and democratic representation.
