Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to analyze the effectiveness of measures that are being taken in Germany and Poland to carry out the greening of agriculture in accordance with the European Green Deal. Challenges and constraints to the implementation of climate-environmental goals in the agriculture of both countries will be discussed. In the first part, the concept of organic agriculture is explained, pointing out the advantages, as well as the weaknesses and differences from intensive agriculture. Then the agricultural sector in Germany and Poland was generally characterized. In the following section, attention was paid to the similarities and differences that exist, as well as the ease or difficulty of carrying out greening, which is assumed by European Green Deal. The article refers to the strategic plans adopted in Germany and Poland for the Common Agricultural Policy. The adopted research hypothesis assumes that Germany and Poland significantly differ in the level of ambition in the implementation of EU environmental goals, which is a derivative of the economic and social conditions of agriculture in both countries, which determine the tasks set, and thus the pace and scope of implementation of the green transition.
