Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes musical memoir literature, with a particular focus on the reception of Kazimierz Wiłkomirski’s “Wspomnienia” based on letters from his friends. The paper presents the development of memoir writing in a historical and cultural context, discusses the significance of musicians’ autobiographies, and shows how Wiłkomirski’s memoirs were received by his collaborators and friends. Based on preserved letters, the author highlights the literary quality of the work, its value as a document of the era, and the emotional and professional reflections of the recipients.
