Summary/Abstract: Discrimination in healthcare facilities is widespread worldwide and violates basic human rights protected in international treaties, national laws and constitutions. Discrimination in health care institutions is most often directed towards marginalized and stigmatized groups, and is reflected in the denial of the right to health care or another health right. The purpose of this research was to determine the attitudes and experiences of healthcare workers related to discrimination in the healthcare system. The individual goals were: to examine whether healthcare workers have ever discriminated at their workplace, whether they have ever witnessed discrimination at their workplace, and whether they think it is necessary to work additionally on raising awareness of equality in healthcare, without marginalization and stigmatization. The Institute for Public Health of the Central Bosnian Canton conducted research with the help of a survey questionnaire that consisted of 8 questions related to equal rights in health care. The sample of respondents who participated in this research was 57. The results of the research showed that 93% of respondents believe that all patients, regardless of religion, nationality and disability, have the same rights. 98.2% of respondents declared that they had never discriminated against a patient at their workplace, but 40.4% of them said that they had witnessed discrimination at their workplace. 86% of those surveyed agree that there is a need for education and raising awareness about the health treatment of discriminated groups.
