Who is afraid of queers? The problem of sexual minority representation in MCU films

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the issue of the representation of queer people in the films that are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The author presents an abbreviated history of this media franchise in order to show the mechanisms that regulate it. In addition, she recalls queer characters appearing chronologically, showing how long it took the filmmakers to introduce a queer character, while promoting future films through queerbaiting.
