Summary/Abstract: Nowadays, a crisis can be defined as a circumstance in which problems and dangerssuddenly arise that require an immediate response in the field of one or more areas, such as theeconomy, public health or security. Analyzing this definition in the context of recent global events,it can be linked directly to the events taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic. In companies, this epidemic was an unprecedented incident due to the drastic and urgent need to find their waythrough a situation of declining turnover, ensuring above-average safety of personnel or, finally, maintaining liquidity. Therefore, it can be said that it has had a significant impact on the way com-panies work and, consequently, on human resource management methodologies as well. GHRM(Green Human Resources Management) practices, which were gaining popularity, mainly in thepre-pandemic years, clashed then with the business reality of not only the pandemic, but also the warin Ukraine. These events may have had a significant impact on the pace of development of GHRMor how it was perceived by employees of companies existing in the Polish economy at that time. The main objective of the study became to present the current level of employees’ environmentalawareness and their feelings about the application of a selected group of sustainability principlesby their employers. To summarize the framework of the study, it can be concluded that:— GHRM topics are important to employees,— one in three respondents notes that their employer is more likely to adhere to sustainabilityprinciples after the pandemic than before it,— organizations are placing and will potentially place increasing emphasis on green humanresource management.
