The Impact of Russian Aggression on the Legal and Actual Situation of Religious Organizations in Ukraine (according to IRS reports)

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the problems related to the difficulties of Ukrainian religious organizations in fulfilling their religious missions after the Russian aggression in 2022. Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine has fundamentally limited the possibilities of realizing freedom of conscience and religion in the individual and collective dimension. The repressive policy of the Russian authorities towards representatives of religious organizations in Ukraine consists in the use of physical violence and the destruction of religious objects. This situation is being investigated by the Ukrainian Institute of Religious Freedom – an institution monitoring the observance of religious rights in the country. According to the reports and recommendations of the Institute of Religious Freedom, it is necessary to involve many domestic and international entities in the full provision of freedom rights in Ukraine.
