Summary/Abstract: This article explores the linkage between the initiation rites of the Karimojong people and the Christian rite of the Sacrament of Confirmation. By examining these two rites through cultural and religious perspectives, the article aims to uncover similarities, differences, and challenges of integrating traditional African rituals with Christian Sacraments. The study addresses specific rituals, symbols, and meanings of the Karimojong male and female initiation rites (asapan and akiwor) and the Christian rite of Confirmation. It analyzes how these rites function as transitions, contribute to individual and community development, and face cultural and theological challenges when integrated. The study recommends harmonizing these rites to foster cultural respect and religious unity. In summary, it enhances the theology of inculturation to enrich the faith of the Karimojong.
