Summary/Abstract: The aim of the research is to explain and assess the change in the direction of KFOR operationsin relation to the evolution of threats to Kosovo’s security. The research problem is contained in the formof the following question: how has the KFOR operation profile changed in relation to the evolution ofthe security situation in Kosovo? In the course of the research carried out, it was found that the NorthAtlantic Treaty Organization in the considered time perspective performed tasks related to peace enfor-cement, stabilising the security situation and creating the conditions for Kosovo to provide security onits own in the future. NATO is the leading international actor, responsible for organising and executinga wide range of activities to shape Kosovo’s security over last two decades. It is assessed that the dynamics ofevolving threats to Kosovo’s security have become a vector for broad changes in the organisational structureof the KFOR mission, leading to a shift in the focus of force operations towards non-kinetic campaign. Theemergence of non-military threats in the Kosovo’s security space after the ethnic conflict forced a change in theprofile of KFOR operations, both in organisational and functional terms. The need to undertake operations ofa stabilising nature caused a change in the NATO’s approach to the conduct of mili-tary operations in Kosovo, which became a vector for subsequent Allied operations ofa peacekeeping and stabilising nature. The research methods used in the study are: critical analysis andevaluation of the literature, participant observation, systems analysis, deduction and synthesis.
