HOW TO CHOOSE A RAKE CONVEYOR

Summary/Abstract: In the course of underground exploitation of mineral raw materials, in addition to loading and obtaining mineral raw materials, an important technological factor is also transportation. Transport in underground exploitation permanent systems such as rake conveyor, conveyor belt and occasional transport such as transport by scrapers, winches, diesel pit locomotives, etc. In this paper, I will base myself only on transport by rake conveyor and try to show the method of selecting a double-chain rake conveyors based on the excavation capacity, with the fact that coal is obtained from the excavation using a combine harvester. The paper will also show the way in which the drive of the rake conveyor is installed. At the end, the results of the tension forces of the chain at certain points of the rake conveyor will be graphically presented. In addition to the tension forces of the chain, a check of the load capacity of the chain will also be shown, as well as a calculation of the amount of material moving along the conveyor bed.
