Summary/Abstract: On searching through samples of Latin text from Livy, Seneca the Younger, Augustine of Hippo, and Gregory of Tours, several points of convergence and/or divergence are found and the findings quantified. Some of the results are interpreted as signs of language change, while others are viewed as tokens of distinction between genres and styles persisting through an extended period of linguistic and literary history.
