Summary/Abstract: In connexion with an instance of ex viso found in a votive inscription from Upper Moesia (IMS 1.89) the author reviews and discusses cases where Latin epigraphic texts appear to testify to a number of linguistic doublets consisting of substantives of the visus type as against visum-type participles used substantively.
