Flood risk assessment and assessment of adaptability of the social-ecological system to hydrological threats

Summary/Abstract: Th e article presents the methodology for assessing fl ood risk for the social and ecological system, which wasused in fl ood risk management plans for river basin areas in Poland. Due to the fact that this assessmentrequires the determination of the current adaptive capacity and adaptive potential of the SES, an extended(holistic) assessment of hydrological threats (not only fl oods) was proposed, citing, among others, on thecurrent results and research conducted by the author in the communes located in the Nysa Kłodzka catch-ment area.
