Summary/Abstract: According to psychoanalysis theory, childhood experiences form the psychological infrastructure of selfperception and behavior patterns in later life stages. Huzur is a novel in which psychological elements predominate and the positive effect of nature on the human spirit comes to the fore. The protagonist of the novel, Mümtaz, first loses his father, and a short time later his mother. Mümtaz, who has a feeling of loneliness, tries to get rid of this feeling by establishing contact with nature on the shores of the Mediterranean. The sun (father) and the sea (mother) become images in Mümtaz's imagination as moving nature elements, and cave and rock as motionless nature elements. For Mümtaz, nature acts as a window to eternity and is a world of "dreams" in which people are enchanted by penumbra and light plays, in which they escape from the crowds and the war agenda. There are similar aspects between Mümtaz's life story and Tanpınar's life story. This situation allows the researcher to make a psychoanalytic evaluation about the novel in the context of the relationship between child and nature. This study examines the traumas of Huzur's protagonist Mümtaz during his childhood and his orientation to nature in the context of psychoanalysis.
