Summary/Abstract: Today, digitalisation plays an important role in immigrants’ language learning, labour market adaptation, and social network expansion processes. Language learning applications and online education platforms allow immigrants to interact with the host society more quickly and effectively, which affects the social coherence process. However, inequalities in access to digital technologies can make the social coherence process more difficult for immigrant groups. The increasing digital divide as a result of inequalities can prevent immigrants from participating in the labour market and accessing educational opportunities. In addition, biased/manipulative news and hate speech that spread rapidly through new media tools can lead to marginalisation and exclusion of immigrants from society. This study examined the role of new media tools in the social coherence process of immigrant groups. The study emphasises that the negative situation created by digital inequalities and the need to manage new media use responsibly. The strategic development of digital policies and the design and use of new media tools to accelerate immigrants’social coherence processes can contribute to a more effective and sustainable social coherence process.
