Summary/Abstract: The Republic of Turkey was founded on the deep-rooted history and accumulation of the Turkish states that existed in the past. Mustafa K. Atatürk has declared that Turkey's form of government was a republic on October 29, 1923. Between 1923 and 1960, the President was elected by the Parliament according to the 1924 Constitution. Elected according to the 1924 Constitution, Mustafa K. Atatürk between 1923 and 1938, İsmet İnönü between 1938 and 1950, and Celal Bayar served as president between 1950 and 1960. Celal Bayar has been efforts to establish the national economy during the Atatürk period. Bayar, a CHP deputy for many years, founded the Democrat Party with his friends who left the CHP in 1946. After the Democratic Party came to power in the 1950 elections, he was elected President by the Parliament.
