Summary/Abstract: The article refers to the poetic work of the Ukrainian poet Lina Kostenko, a representative of the Shestidisiats, repressed in the Stalinist period. Her poetry reflects the most important historical processes of the last century and shows the complex relations of what is universal and individual, momentary and eternal. The constitutive category of her poems is unrepeatability associated with openness to dialogue and responsibility for making choices. These considerations illustrate the dynamics of existence, which are surprising and paradoxical, when what is personal affects what is generational, historical, and national. The concept of unrepeatability is understood to encompass a more expansive notion than that of originality or uniqueness alone. This aspiration towards the truth is of paramount importance.
