ANALYSIS OF CITATION AN D READERSHIP OF ARTICLES FROM THE YEARBOOK ANNALS OF THE GAZI HUSREV-BEG LIBRARY BASED ON STATISTICAL INDICATORS FROM CITATION DATABASES

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the readership and citation of articles from the yearbook Annals of the Gazi Husrev-beg Library based on statistical indicators from citation databases. The focus is on the journal’s impact on the academic community and the recognition of its articles among researchers. Data were collected from relevant citation databases, including Google Scholar, the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), and Open Journal Systems (OJS). The analysis revealed that the Annals have significantly contributed to the dissemination of knowledge about Bosnian culture, history, and library science. It was observed that the most cited articles covered topics such as cultural heritage and Islamic thought, highlighting specific areas of interest for readers. Furthermore, a growing trend in readership and citation has been noted over recent decades, confirming the importance of this journal in both regional and international academic circles. This analysis provides insight into the role of the Annals as a key resource for researchers and students, along with recommendations for enhancing its visibility and accessibility.
