Summary/Abstract: Over the past sixty years, Italian Slavists have directed their efforts in various directions to explore the question of the creation of the first written Slavic language and the associated literary tradition. Many studies in this field are focused on diverse works dedicated to the life and work of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, spanning different periods and languages. The article lists and characterizes Italian contributions, from a textological and literary perspective, to Slavic, Latin, and Greek sources dedicated to the life and work of the Thessalonian brothers.
