Summary/Abstract: Democratization of society in Bosnia and Herzegovina that has been began in nineties affected the development of other and different opinion and formation of political subjects who took part in elections. Beside unfortunate events happend in first phase of the introduction muptiparty system, democratization has continued to develop, and development of democratization affected on development of political subjects. Weakening system of national and political subjects goes gradually, but as results of that weakening arise new political parties and encourage individuals who takes part in elections. Local elections are important for the functioning of real government that has daily contacts with citizens, so, every person has great responsibility to independent candidate for local elections. These candidates are called independent. They, in case of elections have direct responsibility to voters who voted them and they can't hide behind political subject. In 2012 local elections, according to Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were 279 candidates for regular procedure and 51 certified independent candidate for guaranteed mandates for national minorities. This work is based on a planned and conducted campaign of independent candidates for mayor of municipality and aldermans in Sapna, as well as analysis of the results of these candidates in 2012 local elections.
