Summary/Abstract: This article describes the Greek Coin Finds of Ukraine's (CFU) approach to Linked Open Data (LOD), and especially its strategy of compliance with the Nomisma standard for encoding numismatic objects. CFU is a numismatic data project that aims to digitize coin finds of ancient Greek coins found on the territory of modern Ukraine since 1973. A robust LOD access method is desirable from the perspective of making data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. The paper introduces readers first to LOD, broadly, and then introduces Nomisma as a solution particular to numismatics. It then describes the particular approach of CFU, aiming to draw out some general lessons for Digital Humanities projects that might face similar challenges.
