Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the definition of chemical safety procedures in Poland. These procedures are based on the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), which the Republic of Poland is obliged to follow as a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Additionally, the application of GLP principles also stems from European Union law. The article discusses the provisions of the Act on Chemical Substances and Their Mixtures, as well as regulations that detail the procedures for implementing the principles of Good Laboratory Practice. The focus of the study is the organization of the process for implementing GLP standards. An analysis was conducted on the procedure for obtaining a Good Laboratory Practice certificate by research institutions. The article also examines the control and verification process carried out by inspectors from the Office for Chemical Substances. Attention is drawn to the consequences associated with a negative outcome of these procedures. According to the author, the procedures related to the application of Good Laboratory Practice principles provide a solid foundation for ensuring chemical safety in Poland.
