PROCENA EKOLOŠKOG STATUSA OPŠTINE ČAJETINA BAZIRANA NA DPSIR PRISTUPU
ASSESSMENT OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATUS OF MUNICIPALITY ČAJETINA BASED ON DPSIR

Summary/Abstract: Anthropogenic activities have changed Zlatibor area. This area represents significant tourist destination and a source of income for local population. Danger from physical degradation of ecosystem services that jeopardize this highly productive mountain ecosystem are urbanisation, water pollution, soil degradation and reduction in general diversity. As an important condition for further activities on reduction of consequences and improvement of system elements, there is assessment conducted on environment state with DPSIR framework as one of widely accepted tools. Based on recommendation from the European Environmental Agency (EEA) on strategy development for integrated approach to environmental ecological status assessment, a framework has been developed that connect causes and consequences of environmental changes. This paper presents causes of changes, pressures that they cause on resources, exciting state and influence on ecosystem elements, as well as activities which represent the key policies on environmental protection for preservation of resource and ecosystem vitality and improvement of its state.
