THE ROLE OF STATISTICS IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

Summary/Abstract: The development of society and social sciences requires the study of data and drawing conclusions, in which statistics plays an indispensable role. In a turbulent environment and increasingly tough competition, entrepreneurial spirit is not enough to start a business, but systematic research is needed. This paper aims to point out the concept, components and characteristics of statistics, as well as methods of collecting data and their application for statistical analysis. The paper presents the development, application and definition of statistics, methods of statistical classification, introduction to objects and tasks, as well as its importance. The assumption is that quality statistical analysis significantly contributes to reducing the risk of entrepreneurial failure.
