Summary/Abstract: One of the key weaknesses of the labor market in BiH is the lack of practical competencies of graduates and employees. This has negative consequences for employee productivity and the competitiveness of companies. The causes of this situation lie in the unadapted education system, lack of institutional support and lack of systematic training and education programs in companies. The subject of the paper is the business sector and its competitiveness. This paper seeks to identify weaknesses and obstacles to achieving competitiveness, caused by a significant lack of practical competencies. In this regard, research was conducted on successful models of connecting the labor market and education, as well as on the attitudes of entrepreneurs. The assumption is that an integrated approach with the participation of all relevant stakeholders can significantly increase the competitiveness of BiH companies.
