Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes an analysis of the Romanian translation of Luuanda by José Luandino Vieira, focusing on the “Story of the Chicken and the Egg.” Marking the first translation of an Angolan author in Romania, the text presents numerous challenges that will be considered from two angles: the identification of the author’s linguistic particularities, and the translation of words in Kimbundu and of some cultural elements of the text.
