Summary/Abstract: Education holds a significant role in every individual‘s life. In today‘s globalized world, there are ample opportunities to choose educational institutions for young people to pursue their studies, regardless of their location. Various systems have been established to evaluate universities and colleges, providing rankings that reflect the level of achievement and prestige of these institutions. While each system has its own set of criteria, they are diverse. This article aims to compare the rating system of higher education institutions in Bulgaria with the evaluation and ranking systems used in the USA. It is worth noting that some American universities and colleges are considered among the most prestigious educational institutions worldwide.
