Summary/Abstract: The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) - more broadly, algorithm-driven processes - is being driven by the rapid development of information and communication technologies. With all its advantages and drawbacks, it is undoubtedly a key factor for both public and private actors, which is why it has become one of the central objectives of digitisation for European and national public administrations. However, while bearing in mind the objective of development, it is important to bear in mind the risks, which can have a particularly high impact on human dignity and its protection, through disproportionate intrusion into the privacy of natural persons and inappropriate handling of their personal data. This research aims to identify the central privacy concerns of the use of AI by public administrations. This will be done by exploring, to the extent necessary, the current and potential uses of algorithms in public administrations and by examining the regulatory approach of the General Data Protection Regulation to AI.
