Summary/Abstract: The author of the article aimed to present the idea of the functioningof industry skill centers (BCU) as institutions supporting the preparation of staff inaccordance with the needs of the modern economy in various industries by providingthe necessary conditions for lasting and innovative cooperation between business andvocational education at all levels of vocational education, as well as implementingthe concept of professional excellence in the Polish vocational education system.The study takes into account the principles of creating and financing BCUs and theirtasks as an absolute novelty not only in the Polish education and vocational schoolsystem but also on the European market.
