The subject of the research of this article is the currency reform carriedout in Poland in 1924.Research purpose: The aim of the work is to analyze the currency reform carried out in Polandin 1924, to discuss the reasons, assumptions and methods of its implementation, including itslegal and technical aspects. The article is an attempt to answer the questions of whether it wasnecessary and whether, as a result of its introduction, the goals set by its creators were achieved. Methods: The main research methods used in the article are a critical analysis of the literatureon the subject and a historical analysis of legal acts introduced during the implementation ofthe reform. Conclusions: The reform, which is more commonly known as Grabskiʼs currency reform, couldnot be avoided. The lands that became part of Poland, and which had previously been part ofother countries, required order on many levels, including the need for monetary stabilizationand unification. Creating oneʼs own currency was one of the priority tasks. The process itselfencountered many difficulties, but the reform provided the foundation for creating the economicpolicy of the young state.
