Summary/Abstract: During a learning process, the most effective tools are the ones which contribute to a deep understanding of different knowledges, help students in building and connecting these, are important for them, provide control and flexibility and play a role in helping them to think of meaningful ideas. These alone are not enough, it is important for children to use them with a purpose, within exercises, with active teacher guidance. The question arises, whether the use of latest digital technologies, smart devices, such as the use of mathematical applications in kindergarten fits in our previous observations, the above-mentioned traditional viewpoint, do they bring out the same experience as in the case of tangible, concrete activities, or how can it complement them, how different it is, what else can they add to it? After a brief theoretical look at a study, there is a word about a study, which shows the general viewpoint of 237 parents on the above questions, do they prefer two handed manipulation or digital technology-based games? Our results confirmed the complexity of these questions, the opinions are different, there is no common ground. The questioning already leads to conflicts, parents see the situation completely differently. It is a common view that in the 21st century this is inevitable, digital literacy means using these technologies as early as possible. It can be observed that in many cases the lack of information and convenience are in the background, they are not aware of the dangers of using the internet and the apparent ‘development’ of the children misled them.
