Summary/Abstract: The extremely rapid changes taking place in the modern world related to the building of a knowledge-based economy place new requirements on the modern school and on teachers. Educators need to adapt to the ongoing transformation. Educational space is characterized by changeability which makes a teacher’s professional work par- ticularly complex, multi-dimensional, unpredictable, and underdetermined. Therefore, a permanent feature of this profession is the need to constantly expand knowledge and improve teaching skills and competences. Due to the uniqueness of educational situations that occur in a changing world, preparation for teaching work cannot be considered a fi- nite process, but must be permanent and cover the entire period of professional work.
