Summary/Abstract: The author is aiming to deal with one of the most dramatic issue in a man´s live – deportation. Firstly, he emphasizes the Romanian sheperds drama from Mărginimea Sibiului, sheperds who spent their lives and had their fortunes in Russia during the Tzarist regime and in the first decades of Communist era. Secondly, taking into consideration that Dostoyevsky was condemned to deportation in the mid-nineteenth century, and wrote a book on this topic, ”The House of the Dead”, basically an semi-autobiografical novel, the author wishes to emphasizes this drama from two different perspectives.
