Summary/Abstract: This essay aims to bring together Paul Ricoeur, Martin Heidegger, and Umberto Eco’s view regarding the work of art. I intend to show where the thought of Eco and Heidegger helps shape a better understanding of a possible hermeneutics of art from Ricoeur’s point of view. For a better understanding of ricoeurian thought of art I take use of his concept of hermeneutical distance.
