Summary/Abstract: The current article seeks to answer the question to what extent the characters from the popular children’s TV show “Peppa Pig” are constructed using gender stereotypes. By examining definitions of gender and its inherent social characteristics, the paper sets out to analyze the extent to which this particular children’s series reinforces gender biases and the heteronormative order, and the extent to which it diversifies representation of the nuclear family and the roles within it.
