Summary/Abstract: This study focuses on the investigation of the crescent-shaped clay weights discovered in the Cucutenian settlement of Roma-Balta lui Ciobanu. These artifacts are contextualized through analogies identified in Central and Southern Europe, Anatolia, and the Mediterranean region. By employing scientific methods and detailed comparisons, the research aims to analyze both the similarities and differences between textile weights found in various regions, with particular emphasis on their functionality, artifact shape, and cultural significance. The findings of the study suggest that, despite geographical diversity, semilunar weights from different regions share common characteristics, indicating cultural and commercial exchanges among prehistoric populations. Furthermore, the research delves into possible reciprocal influences between regions concerning textile production technologies and cultural practices associated with these artifacts. Through the integration of experimental studies and comparisons, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the evolution of prehistoric societies in the mentioned regions, shedding light on cultural and commercial connections within a broader context. The scientific approach adopted in this work offers new insights into the study of technological evolution and cultural practices during prehistoric periods. It enriches our understanding of interactions among different human communities of that time and establishes a solid foundation for future research in this field.
