Summary/Abstract: The present article is a unique analysis of the repertoire of fairy tales from the Dorohoi region, highlighting their thematic, structural and stylistic particularities. The research of the examined texts reveals the local creators' preference for stories with a pronounced educational character, focusing on the relationship between humans and divinity and the confrontation between God and the devil. These fairy tales exhibit a strict popular ethic, albeit with nuances of subjectivity depending on the characters' status. However, the documentary value at the linguistic level is somewhat diminished by the collectors' interventions, as the storytellers' language is strongly regional. Through all these aspects, the Dorohoi fairy tales constitute an important cultural document, offering a glimpse into a region that has been little explored in terms of folklore.
